Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, Specs, Rumors: Is It Better Than Apple MacBook Pro 2016?

Rumors about Microsoft's highly anticipated Surface Pro 5 release date, specs and pricing rumors are piling up more and more. While, there are conflicting reports about the next gen Surface Pro's release date, there's no doubt that the software giant will leave no stone unturned to make the upcoming device better than its competitors. In fact, it is expected that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will give a very tough fight to Apple's yet-to-be announced MacBook Pro 2016 which is rumored to get released before the end of the year.

Talking about the rumored specs,  the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to pack Intel's latest Kaby Lake processing chip, while Apple MacBook Pro 2016 will still use Intel's sixth generation Skylake processors. As far as display is concerned, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to be the first-ever device in its series to have a 4K Ultra HD display. It is rumored that the laptop-tablet hybrid will get rolled out in 2K and 4K display models. Comparatively, the Apple MacBook Pro 2016 is rumored to feature a 5K Apple display with 5120 x 2880 screen resolution. Among other specs, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to house AMD or Nvidia Pascal GPU, 16 GB of RAM, a 16MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera and Thunderbolt 3.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to cost $899 for the base model and $1,599 for the high end model, while the Apple MacBook Pro 2016 is rumored to come with a price tag of between $1,299 up to $1,499, reported GameNGuide.
