While Samsung is keeping mum on the release date of its highly anticipated phablet Galaxy Note 6, possibly named Galaxy Note 7, rumors about the next gen device has been piling up for quite some time now.

If the latest leaks and rumors are be believed, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will feature some seriously impressive specs including a huge 6-inch curved edge display, an iris scanner, a new software interface as well as a new S Pen stylus.

Recently, popular tipster Evan Blass leaked alleged pictures of the upcoming device on Twitter. The tweet sent out by Blass shows the smartphone's overall design as well as reveals the different color options that the Galaxy Note 7 will be made available in. As per the leaked picture, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will come in Black Onyx, Silver Titanium, and Blue Coral color variants. In the leaked picture, the rear panel of the smartphone can be seen imprinted with the words "Galaxy Note 7."

Furthermore, the pictures confirm that the upcoming phablet will have an iris scanner located at the upper left side of the device alongside the front camera.

It is assumed that Samsung is planning to roll out the Galaxy Note 7 as a direct competitor for iPhone 7 Plus. This is the reason that the smartphone giant is expected to launch its upcoming Galaxy Note phablet as Galaxy Note 7 instead of Galaxy Note 6.

As far as the release date is concerned, the smartphone maker is expected to unveil either the Galaxy Note7 or Galaxy Note7 edge on August 2, 2016, at the Alice Tully Hall of the Lincoln Center in New York, reported SamMobile. The picture obtained by the publication shows the name of the upcoming Samsung event, five curved lines pointing towards '7′ and the phrase "The next edge is just around the corner." The phrase could be for the Galaxy Note7 edge.

We advise our readers to take the information with a big grain of salt as nothing yet has been confirmed by Samsung.
