While Niantic hasn't announced an exact release date as to when the crazily popular "Pokémon Go" gaming app will be rolled out for Apple Watch, the game developer has at least refuted all the rumors about the Pokémon Go app for Apple Watch being canceled due to lack of interest.

It was on Saturday that an email published by a Reddit user, who claimed to be a Niantic customer service agent, stated that the "port for the Apple Watch has been shelved." The email further added that the development of the Pokémon Go app for Apple Watch has been canceled. It took almost no time for the rumor to spread like fire. In fact, a few technology news websites even ran the alleged news.

Not long after the news was published, Pokémon Go creator Niantic came forward and cleared everything. The game developer refuted all the rumors saying that the Pokémon Go app for Apple Watch has not been canceled.

"Pokémon Go is still under development and has not been canceled," a Niantic representative told Recode. "We'll have more news soon."

The official Pokémon Go Twitter account also posted a message confirming that Pokémon Go app for Apple Watch is coming soon.

Notably, Niantic first showcased the Pokémon Go app for Apple Watch at Apple's September event. The game developer originally planned to roll out the app before the end of the year, but, unfortunately, no updates on the release date of the Pokémon Go app for Apple Watch has been announced yet. There's already a dedicated Pokémon Go wearable currently available for gamers which is a $35 Bluetooth device known as the Pokémon Go Plus.

Stay tuned to SWR for more updates and the latest news on Pokémon Go app for Apple Watch release date.
