Lee Kyeong-tae, Samsung's Vice President for Mobile Communication, in an interview with WSJ stated that the yet to be unveiled Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a new "slick design" and an "improved camera". Moreover, according to Lee the upcoming high-end smartphone will feature "an enhanced artificial intelligence service".

The company officer however, did not divulge any detail about the innovation on the new Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone. Experts expect that the largest smartphone producer will take advantage of is Viv Labs takeover. Viv Labs is a US-based company specializing on artificial-intelligence software. Samsung acquired Viv Labs earlier this month. Developers at Viv Labs are responsible in making of Siri, which Apple adapted as their digital voice-assistant in their line of smartphones and tablets.

If internet leaks are to be believed, the new Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.5-inch 4K (2160x3840 pixels) Super Amoled display. The display packs a whopping pixel density of 806ppi. On the inside, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to run with their own Exynos 8895 SoC and will be supported by a 6GB of RAM. The new Samsung smartphone is also expected to sport an impressive 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel dual-rear camera setup.

A fingerprint scanner is rumoured to be embedded in the 4k display instead of the usual home button. This innovation in the Samsung Galaxy S8 could put the Korean smartphone as the first to feature an optical fingerprint technology.

On a side note, reports states that the production of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is put on hold as the company searches for the problem in the controversial Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
