Tech giant Apple recently debuted its newest operating system dubbed iOS 10. While the OS comes with a lot of new features, there's also some iOS 10 issues which iPhone users are reportedly experiencing.

According to CultofMac, a number of iPhone users have taken to social media to report battery draining issues after they upgraded to iOS 10. They complained that instead of optimizing battery efficiency, the newly rolled out iOS 10 OS drains handset batteries and heats them up as well. The iOS 10 battery draining issue has affected a number of iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s users.

One of the affected users wrote on the Reddit that his iPhone's battery dipped to 30 percent after 2 hours of use and 4 hours on standby. While the post did not mention the iPhone model, the user did note that his iPhone used to last an entire day on just one single charge before updating to the new OS. However, now, the situation is that the smartphone requires charging at least twice a day on iOS 10.

"My 6S has been down to 10-20% for several days in a row by 4 pm with only 2-3 hours of usage. Safari took 32% of my battery today in 39 minutes. I'm on iOS 10.0.1," another user wrote, reported Softpedia.

As Apple hasn't yet acknowledged the issue, so, it currently remains unclear whether the iOS 10 battery draining issue is a widespread one or it has just affected only a few users.

Until the Cupertino offers a fix for the issue, affected iPhone users can resort to some tips and tricks which might help preserve the battery life of their iOS 10 devices. They can try factory resetting the device or follow the "Battery Life Suggestions" found in the iPhone's Settings > Battery. Users can also disable location services on their handsets when not in use or disable background app refresh, or use "Reduce Motion" which can be found in Settings > Accessibility > Reduce Motion. Last but not the least, users can downgrade back to iOS 9.3.5 from iOS 10 to get the iOS 10 battery draining issue fixed.
