Exalenz Bioscience, a new developer of diagnostic systems that uses a patient's breath to detect gastrointestinal and liver conditions, has just launched BreathID HP, which could work as a next generation of devices in the company's BreathID product line, according to Reuters.

Monday the company said they offer a specific, non-invasive test for H. pylori

According to WebMD, H. pylori is a spiral-shaped bacterium commonly found in the stomach that can move its way up inside the body and penetrate the stomach's protective mucous lining. The bacteria can also attach to the cells of the stomach and cause stomach inflammation and stimulate the production of excess stomach acid, which over time, can cause stomach cancer.

Exalenz said that it has formed in the United States a new direct sales and clinical support organization, designed to better address customer needs going forward.

The company website states that the BreathID is a compact system that can easily fit on a small table or countertop and is compatible with electronic medical records (EMR).

The test can be taken in just 10-15 minutes with complete delivery results that enable the physician to immediately prescribe treatment if necessary. The system can also be used to test if the H. pylori bacteria has been eradicated.
