Microsoft's Surface Book 2 is hopefully pegged for a 2017 release, as stated by several fans and experts.

The first Microsoft Surface Book, which is also Microsoft's first laptop ever, was released to overwhelming response. It was launched in October 2015. Microsoft also recently launched the Surface Book i7, which was a 2nd generation variant of the Surface Book. It featured better processors and vigorous battery capacity, among other upgrades. However, the Surface Book i7 was NOT the Microsoft Surface Book 2 officially.

Rumours have it that the completely new device is going to be launched to awaiting fans soon!

Surface Book 2 Release Date

Microsoft has not officially confirmed the date of the launch. However, it is reported that the release of Surface Book 2 will happened sometime in 2017 itself.

Surface Book 2 Specs

Microsoft Surface Book 2 is going to be powered by the super fast and latest Intel Kaby Lake processor. Microsoft is waiting for the official release of the i5 and i7 versions of Kabe Lake processor so that the chipsets can be officially included in the Surface Book 2. This would mean a remarkable performance improvement in the device.

The screen will be a 13.5 inch display and the resolution is rumoured to be a spectacular 3840 X 2160 pixels. For the uninitiated, that is the brilliant 4K video support everyone has been talking about!

The latest Surface Book 2 may also follow the tow of competitors and include virtual reality support. However, please do note that these are just rumours right now.

Apart from these hardware and software upgrades, the actual design of Microsoft Surface Book 2 may also undergo a great improvement. Microsoft has hinted that they will add a new hinge system to the new laptop. This hinge will have fewer ridges and will hopefully resolve the earlier complaints made by the previous customers.

The tech giant is yet to confirm any of these rumours and news. But we should be expecting that anytime soon.

The pricing is still under discussion and speculation as it will be competing with the 2017 version of its biggest competitor in the segment, Apple Macbook!
