Some Newlyweds too Tired, Drunk to Make Love on Wedding Night

For most couples, a wedding is noted as the happiest days of their lives. Unfortunately, that might not always be the case.

A recent poll that questioned 2,138 people who married in the past three years showed that on their wedding nights, many did not consummate their love as the groom was just too drunk. 
The bride falling asleep and fights during the reception also showed problems four couples during this engagement.

The survey shows that more than half--or 52 percent--admitted to not making love on their wedding night and 17 percent waited more than three days after their ceremony. 
Sixteen percent of the couples also said problems resulted due to the bride's drunkenness and 4 percent said that the groom fell asleep to soon for sex. 

And if children were involved, 9 percent of couples said that an argument may have resulted before the reception ended, and eleven percent said it was simply because they had children to look after. 

Yet others had a more joyful reason for putting off sex. For instance, 9 percent of cases showed that couples put off love making due to traveling for their honeymoon. Another 7 percent stayed up all night partying with guests. 

"The emphasis of wedding night sex for married couples is no longer a huge factor," said George Charles marketing director of Voucher Codes Pro, who commissioned the survey, via the Daily Mail. "It may be that the stress and pressure of organising a wedding takes the main priority, especially considering such a large proportion of couples have been living together for years."
