Researchers at Oregon State University have found a relationship between low levels of vitamin D and depression in young women with no other health issues.

It turns out that vitamin waters and energy drinks aren't nearly as healthy as they claim. Scientists have examined their micronutrient compositions and have found that consumers stand to reap little or no benefit from these nutrient-packed drinks.

Scientists have found that some species of marine phytoplankton can grow without consuming vitamin B1 (thiamine), which contradicts the common view that many eukaryotic microbes depend on scarce supplies of this vitamin in the ocean to survive.
