The number of entrepreneurs are growing as more people are getting access to technology.  Thanks to the internet, owners of both big and small businesses are able to run their organization efficiently. If you're one of those people and you'd like to grow your business in 2020, here are the five things you should be doing.

1. Social Media

Everyone's already on social media. Even the pope is! If you're not there yet, you should definitely make this a priority in the year 2020. Social media is a great platform. It's not just for posting your stuff, it's also for finding inspiration, studying your competitors, knowing your customers, learning about the latest trends.

You don't have to create an elaborate social media strategy. Start with a post and keep on doing that until people find you. The more consistent you are with posting informative stuff about your business, the more people will follow you.

2. Focus and Organization

We live in a distracted world where a quick ding from your phone will send you into a rabbit hole of cat memes. If you want your business to grow in the new decade, you need to practice focus. Not just in your tasks but in your vision as well. It's easy to get attracted with the trendiest strategies when you could just be sticking with tried and tested tactics.

Aside from focus, you should be organized as well. This means assigning small specific tasks for each business goal you have. Writing them on paper is not just enough. You need to be putting down these doable tasks in your collaboration tools and assign them for your team to execute.

3. Know your Customers and Prioritize Customer Service

Get to know what your customers want. It's the only way to create products that will sell. It doesn't matter how long you spent producing the product. If no one wants to buy it, your business won't grow.

Spend some time researching your customers. What are their needs? Their pain points? Also look at your competitors. What products of theirs sell the most? What makes them stand out? By spending some time discerning on these questions, you can create the right products and market them the right way to your target customers.

4. Tap Into Microinfluencers

You've seen it. Your favorite celebrity or influencer holding a product and mentioning it in their caption. But did you know what you too can have your brand mentioned by influencers? You don't need a six figure budget. Micro Influencers are your best friend. These are people on social media who have many followers but not that many. This means you get to reach just the right people who are willing to buy your product.

Do your research and approach micro-influencers who would actually use your product. People like authenticity and if they see their favorite attainable influencer using your product, they are more likely to buy it too!

Even if people aren't buying from you, having your brand just mentioned out there is a great way to create awareness. This is a part of demand generation marketing where the main goal isn't necessarily to sell products right away. It's to build a long relationship with potential customers and maintain it for as long as possible so they become loyal buyers in the long run.

5. Sustainability is In

Everyone is clamoring about climate change nowadays. Because of this, you will see a number of businesses using sustainability as their selling point. If not, they make sure that their are practicing sustainability such as using eco-packing, sourcing materials ethically, and accepting used packaging material. If you want to see growth in your business in the coming decade, you need to inject sustainability into your brand.

Which of these tips are you going to implement first in the new decade? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
