Brazillian football player Helio Neto survived the Chapecoense plane crash while carrying a Bible.

Mirror UK reported that Associação Chapecoense de Futebol team player Helio Neto, who was traveling with his teammates and staff for a game at Medellin, Colombia, was among the few who survived the plane crash that killed more than 70 passengers. During the crash, Neto reportedly had a Bible in hand and was reading verses in Psalm 63 that talks about being protected in God's wings.

The Bible retrieved at the crash site had a bookmark at the Psalm 63 page where it says, "On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.  Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings."

The player's GP, Dr. Carlos Mendonca from Medellin's RioNegro hospital, shared his interesting conversation with Neto after waking up from a coma. He said Neto did not immediately remember surviving a plane crash and noticed that the weight of his injuries was not football-related.

"Probably he will talk with you about this, he had a dream the day before the trip," Dr. Mendonca revealed. "He dreamed that the aircraft was falling, a very dramatic thing, and he told his wife that he didn't want to fly. So this affected him a lot. It was a really shocking thing," he added.

Neto's wife, Simone, told reporters that her husband is a spiritual man and that he always takes the Bible with him wherever he goes.

Despite the football player's scheduled surgery on his lungs, skull, knees and wrists, this survival may have displayed the hand of God working on a devout believer in deadly situations.

According to The Telegraph, the football team was traveling via Flight CP2933 operated by a charter airline named LaMia. They were on their way to their much-awaited match at Copa Sudamericana in Medellin for a final game against Atlético Nacional.
