The new Apple MacBook Air 2017 release date is still widely speculated. Although Apple did not make any announcement about it at the October 27 event, some fans are hoping that Apple will soon release the new model.

Since Apple did not even mention the MacBook Air at its 2016 event, it was presumed that the MacBook Air was discontinued. Latest new reports have surfaced online which suggest that MacBook Air 2017 release date would be soon.

As reported in The Wall Street Journal, MacBook Air 2017 will the cheapest Mac laptop. The Air series has been widely known for its long battery life. The new laptop would be able to give a backup of 12.5 hours of battery life even with web surfing.

The MacBook Air 2017 will be equipped with two USB ports, a thunderbolt, a keyboard and an SD card slot. Apple has not yet revealed any specification for the new device nor it has confirmed the launch date. The prime reason for speculated discontinuation of the Air range is the launch of newer MacBook Pro which is better in all aspects than its predecessors. The Cupertino has already discontinued the 11-inch MacBook Air line.

The MacBook Air has never received a retina display and with its 13.5-inch low-resolution display, it looks like an old CRT TV. The new MacBook Air 2017 might receive the retina display. It is rumored to come powered by an Intel Kaby Lake chipset and ARM chips. Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1 ports, and DisplayPort 1.2 are also expected to be on board.

The new Macbook Air will also be sleeker and lighter than its predecessor. A new keyboard system might also be introduced. The E-ink system will enable users to totally customize the keyboard. Users would be able to make shortcuts as per their own use.

One of the most important aspects that makes the MacBook Air 2017 a must buy is its price. The current MacBook is priced at $999, which is $500 cheaper than the MacBook Pro 2016 and $300 cheaper than the Retina MacBook.

The discontinuation of the MacBook Air is inevitable but fans are hoping that Apple will give them an amazing product to cherish. Stay tuned to SWR for more updates on Apple MacBook Air 2017 release date, rumors, specs and price details.
