The year is about to end and the Electric Vehicle Enthusiasts are already excited for what's in store for 2017. Chevrolet is currently working on its 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV that will compete with its Tesla Model 3 rival. Although the Bolt EV was earlier expected to arrive by the end of this year, taking into consideration the production rate, it appears that the EV will be launched at the beginning of the next year.

Based on the all-electric Bolt vehicle design concept showcased at the Detroit Motor Show, the Chevrolet Bolt EV boasts a hefty 238-miles range that is much more than provided by Tesla's $60,000 EV. Here's what we know about the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV so far:

2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV: Specs And Features

The Bolt EV's drive system features a single high capacity electric motor to drive the car. The electric motor includes an offset gear and shaft configuration that provides an amazing 200 miles of range. The EV produces a power output of 200 hp (150 kW) and is capable of producing a torque of up to 266 lb-ft (360 Nm).

The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV specs an amazing 7.05:1 final drive ratio, which gives it acceleration from 0-60 mph in even less than seven seconds. Weighing 960pounds, the Battery system includes 60 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and 288 lithium ion cells. The EV battery is covered by a limited warranty of 8 years/ 100,000 miles. The Bolt EV battery is capable of charging up to 90 miles of range in 30 minutes, using DC Fast Charging.

2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV: Looks And Interior

Although no official announcements have been made regarding the Bolt EVs interior, we can still speculate the features it might present. The EV features a Bluetooth low-energy system that connects the owners' smart phone to the car automatically.The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV features other infotainment systems, including a 10.2'' MyLink color touch-screen display, a widget-based flip-board style operation, a Rear Camera Mirror as well as a new Surround Vision system.

The batteries in the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV are located beneath the front seats and double up beneath the rear cushions. This provides a higher seating position and a pretty spacious trunk. The cabin has plenty of room and a fair bit of latest tech. The EV supports Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto. There's also a lane keep assist system that'll keep the driver from wandering off roads.
