Solar Storms Blast The Planet Earth, Could Disrupt Power Grids
The Space Weather Prediction Center warns the public that the planet Earth will be hit by a moderate solar storm this week. This could cause shutting off the power. On the other hand, people must not panic as these are quite common and might even spot great aurora.
IFL Science reports that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) classified the storm as G2. The storm could bring voltage alarms, yet they cannot cause damage. The solar storm could be felt all around the world.

During the solar storm, the charged particles, which come from a coronal hole on the sun, hit the Earth's magnetic field. It will influence radar and satellite interference and may cause phone and internet networks problems. It also involves navigation services problems, according to Daily Mail.
The geomagnetic storms also generate interaction between the earth's magnetic field and the deluge of particles create by the star. The Sun then loses particles in the solar wind and will generate a sudden burst of very fast particles in a phenomenon called coronal mass ejection every occasionally.
There were also warnings issued by PJM Interconnection LLC and the Midcontinent Independent System Operator. The US Space Weather Prediction center might also raise a 'serious' G3 level storm alert. On the other hand, it was categorized now as the less severe G2 storm. This category is in effect as of this time.
