White house announced last Aug 12, that you can now send a message directly to President Barack Obama through messaging the official White House Facebook page. This initiative is a part of the administration's campaign to communicate to the American people and to be able to make more citizen-centered services.

According to a statement shared in the White House official website, "Our goal is to meet people where they are. It's why the President launched his own Twitter account and the First Lady is on Snapchat". President Obama said that "Abraham Lincoln was able to have regular office hours where people would come and wait outside his office, which was over in the residence."  He wanted a government service focused on dealing with the problems that are facing every American Citizen.

This was not the very first time that President Barack Obama displayed his humble and reachable character as President. In his term he launched the "Letters for the President" wherein he reads 10 letters every night mailed by average Americans. According to New York Times, Obama often referred to these letters in his speeches, telling the stories of the American people his administration was able to help. President Obama was also seen guesting several TV shows like the Jimmy Kimmel Live where he read hilarious mean tweets about him. He was also known for his comical White House Correspondents' Dinner "Obama out" and "Obama Anger Translator" speeches.

According to Chief Digital Officer of the White House, Mr. Jason Goldman emphasized that in today's digital trend, it is he White House' responsibility to keep up and connect "instantaneously to the people of the world". Technology paved way for a better and more accessible communication. And Obama's administration did not fail to exploit this advantage to serve more to the American people.
