While Samsung has almost announced the release date for its highly anticipated phablet flagship Galaxy Note 7, nothing about the device's specs and features has been revealed. Rumors about what the tech giant might have in store are making rounds for quite some time now.

New reports suggest Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note 7 will feature an always-on display same as the Galaxy S7. The picture, obtained by TechTastic, shows the partially lit up Galaxy Note 7 screen displaying the time, date, battery life, and a selection of other icons. The device in the picture also features a curved-edge screen as well as an iris scanner which is visible on the front.

Previous reports suggest Samsung Galaxy Note 7 specs will feature a 5.7-inch QHD display of 1440x2560 pixel resolution and Qualcomm's recently announced Snapdragon 821 chipset with Adreno 530 GPU. There are also rumors that the new flagship will come out in two variants, one with a Snapdragon chipset and other with an Exynos chipset. The device is expected to run Google's new mobile OS dubbed Android 7 Nougat and will be backed by 6GB of RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage slot.

Other Galaxy Note 7 specs include a 12-megapixel rear LED flash camera, a 5-megapixel front facing camera, an advanced S-Pen, an expandable storage, IP68 rating and a USB-C device connectivity. It is rumored that the handset will be rolled out in in four color variants- Coral Blue, Silver Titanium, Gold and Black Onyx.

SamMobile reported that the Galaxy Note 7 would be released with a price tag of €849 in Europe, a price that converts to around $910. This price is reportedly €50 more than the Galaxy S7 Edge current price.

Samsung is going to unveil the Galaxy Note 7 at an Unpacked event that will take place at 11:00 a.m. EDT in New York on August 2, 2016. The invitation for the event features the S Pen front and center throughout the header image. It is reported that the handset will go on sale on the same day.
