'Minecraft: The Movie' Latest Update: Release Day Same With 'The Billion Brick Race' On May 2019

"Minecraft: The Movie" and the LEGO adventure "The Billion Brick Race" will be released on the same date. Warner Bros. has announced that the Mojang adaptation will be released on May 24, 2019, the same release day of their very own Jason Segel-helmed LEGO adventure movie.

The upcoming "Minecraft: The Movie" will be released both on 3D and IMAX, Collider reported.  "Minecraft: The Movie" movie will be directed by "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's" Rob Mc Elhene. Aside from these information, there is no further details about the plot, characters or cast.

On the official Mojang website, it read:

"We all want an awesome Minecraft movie, yes? That might seem like a long time away, but it's just so happens to be the right amount of time making it completely awesome. As time goes by, we will share loads more, more loads! That's it for now."

"Minecraft: The Movie" producer Roy Lee also gave the movie's logline through Collider. He said that "Minecraft: The Movie" would belong to a multiverse where humans can join-in; feeling for themselves the live action version of the "Minecraft" experience.  

The "Minecraft" success reportedly implies that it is hard to bet against the Warner Bros.' "Minecraft: The Movie." Aside from the information about its release date, producer, writer, as well as the fact that it will come out in IMAX and 3D, no further information was revealed by its Director.

While "Minecraft" game fans are wondering about the kind of movie to come out, Telltale has already given a hint on how users can weave all of the fascinating stories according to the "Minecraft: Story Mode" for $4.99, Touch Arcade reported. With the series' popularity, it is difficult to believe that 3 years from now will not be a hit.

The "Minecraft: The Movie" will be produced by Jill Messick and Lee along with star writer McElhenney.
