Facebook Will Delete Your Photos Soon, Here’s What You Should Do

If so, you should make sure to back these up as soon as possible as Facebook may delete these soon. The social media giant has given a deadline to its users to install its photo-sharing app called Moments before the 7^th of July.

Many users depended on the photo-syncing feature of Facebook in backing up their photos. The feature has allowed millions of users to automatically back up their photos from phones to their accounts. These synced photos will be deleted if users will not opt to use the Moments app.

The photo-syncing feature was introduced in 2012 for iOS users. Through this feature, smartphones can have copies of their photos on Facebook albums right in their smartphones. The rationale behind is that users can easily find the photos later in case they want to share the snapshots with their friends.

Earlier this year, Facebook has decided to cease automatic syncing of photos so users will opt to use the Moments app. Users will have to download the photos and save these in their laptops if they do see the need to download the photo app. Users have already received notifications in their accounts about this change.

There were mixed reactions on social media given the turn out of events. Some have not downloaded the Messenger app yet, and then Facebook has introduced another bold move that affect its users.

It can be recalled that Facebook also did a similar move with its Messenger app. Facebook has totally removed the Facebook feature within the website, so users were required to download the app. Around 900 million users "were forced" to use the app so they can keep on sending messages to their Facebook contacts.

After Facebook notified its millions of users, Moments became one of the most downloaded in the App Store recently, which is the aim of the social media giant.
