The next installment of the popular "Halo" franchise, dubbed "Halo 6" is expected to get released this month. What's more exciting is that developer 343 Industries is planning to roll out the first-person shooter video game for both PC and Xbox One owners.

The last three installments of the franchise were made exclusive for Xbox consoles. However, if rumors are to be believed, "Halo" fans will be able to enjoy "Halo 6" on their Windows PC as well.

The gaming studio has already confirmed that it will not be releasing "Halo 5: Guardians" on Windows PC, reported Counsel Heal. Development director Frank O'Connor has, however, announced that the company aims to focus on Windows 10 compatibility for its upcoming titles. The gaming studio has confirmed that it will be bringing the upcoming title, "Halo Wars 2," to Xbox One and PC.

"As we've stated previously, we have no plans to release Halo 5: Guardians on Windows 10. We are focused on building Halo Wars 2 for Windows 10 and Xbox One," the official statement from Microsoft and 343 Industries reads, reported Christian Today.

The development team confirmed the existence of "Halo 6" in an interview with GamesRadar last year.

"You can look at the ending of Halo 4 - and where Master Chief is and obviously we had to know where we were going to take Halo 5 and Halo 6 with that. You have an epic sci-fi universe and we have multiple ways that we can go with this story, but all the pieces are laying there. The canvas is there for us to paint," said 343's studio head Bonnie Ross.

It is expected that "Halo 6" might get announced during the E3 2016 event which is set to take place between June 14-16.
