In a recent interview with tech journalist Walt Mossberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai assured fans of a significantly enhanced next Nexus experience, according to 9to5Google.

Talking about the future of the Nexus line of smartphones, Pichai mentioned that the company would put "more thought" into them.

"You'll see us hopefully add more features on top of Android on Nexus phones," he said. "There's a lot of software innovation to be had."

Pichai added that Google would be "more opinionated" about the design of the phones, reported The Verge.

When asked whether Google plans to build its own phones from scratch, the CEO said, "No. Our plan is still to work with OEMs to make phones."
