Kevin Durant Is Not Ready To Talk About Free Agency Just Yet

After being eliminated in the 2016 Western Conference Finals, it didn't take long before Kevin Durant was asked where he would be playing next season. But Durant still reflecting on his season said he is not ready to talk about his free agency just yet.

Kevin Durant will be an unrestricted free agent starting July 1^st. However, there were opinions on Durant himself and whether or not the Oklahoma City Thunder had done their best in making sure that the former MVP will stick around come free agency.

According to USA Today, there are a couple of people who have been informed of these things, while others have not. However, Kevin Durant himself swears these things have not entered his mind and is still not sure what the future might hold. Or at least not yet.

During the postgame press conference, Durant told ESPN's Tim MacMahon that he hasn't even thought about his free agency because his team just lost and got eliminated. "I'm just embracing my teammates and just reflecting on the season. I'll think about that stuff, I don't know when. But we just lost an hour ago, 30 minutes ago, so I don't know," he continued.

While exiting the stadium after the press conference, Durant talked to Michael Lee of the Vertical and said, "What I got, a month? I don't know," the league's most coveted unrestricted free agent said. "I've got to decompress, just reflect. And I really can't tell you. I'll know in the next couple of weeks - if I even think about it. But as of today, I have no thoughts; I have nothing to really think about. Just enjoy, reflect on this season and all we did as a team."

An article in NBA.com written by Shaun Powell said that the scenario of Durant staying for one more season with the Thunder and doing what he does best next summer is a safe call. Powell said that Durant knows what he has in OKC and he knows it's very good and has a potential to be great.

Sam Presti, the team's general managers has managed to keep the core of the ream even in the after trading James Harden to the Houston Rockets 4 years ago. The team has a reliable big guys in Steven Adams and Enes Kanter and a developing guard in Andre Roberson with a bench that contributes when it's needed.

He has a coach, Billy Donovan, who earned his stripes and the respect of the league this postseason. The way Donovan adjusted after a Game 1 blowout against the Spurs and Gregg Popovich in the semifinals proved that Presti hired the right coach to replace Scott Brooks.

In an interview Presti expressed how proud he is of his boys saying, "I'm so proud of our team, our players and everybody that takes a part in the Thunder. It was a tremendous effort," said Presti. "I've watched Kevin and Russell put the foundation of the organization together, an organization that was virtually nothing. The fundamental aspect of the Thunder is what those guys are about. They're great competitors, incredible workers, tremendous people and they've got a lot of grit."

This season's loss made him realize that "It hurts losing," he said. "It sucks to lose." For Kevin Durant though, next season will be another chance for him to try and get the championship he has always wanted, but before doing that, he will have to face another challenge he will have total control over, the team he will play for.
