'Game of Thrones’ King Harrington: 'I Am More Than My Looks,' Speaks About Sexism In Hollywood

"Game Of Thrones" Kit Harrington said that sexism towards men in Hollywood must be recognized. The actor, who is popularly known in the HBO series "Game of Thrones" for his role as Jon Snow speaks out about people asking him regarding his body and hair during interviews, which he finds "demeaning."

The 29-year-old English actor said that he feels strongly against the sexism against male actors and that he believes that this issue must be properly addressed. He added that he thinks of himself as more than a head with a hair or with a set of looks, according to Herald Scotland.

While Harrington recognizes the fact that he has been employed because of his physical appearance, he argues that there is a sexism that is being experienced by men. The actor admitted that he feels most exposed to the movie industry's sexism when he is being asked to strip off in some scenes or even during some photo shoots. He further noted that such sexism that happens to women in the industry is also the same thing that happens to men.

According to the actor, if he ever felt that he was being accepted as an actor or he if he was being cast for a project only because of how he looks, he might consider quitting and stop acting.  As part of his effort to get rid of the hunk image, Harrington stated that is looking out for those roles that will test him as an actor.

In addition to this, he admits of getting of being asked about the never-ending questions regarding his hair, muscular physique as well as his love life. Also, he told his people to stay away from Jon Snow-esque characters, according to Independent.

Harrington's current stage role appears to be challenging. According to reports, the West End production Doctor Faustus makes him play the character of a scholar that will make a deal with the devil in exchange for his unlimited knowledge.
