Game of Thrones fans expressed disappointment as the fifth episode of the series called The Door was leaked before its official premiere on Sunday.

According to IB Times, the leak was from HBO Nordic and was accessed by the public a day before the supposed showing of the episode. HBO Nordic was said to share the episode "by accident". There were also details of the leak, which included the synopsis, posted on the Reddit website by a user named Ozires. The user said the source was actually HBO Nordic.

HBO has been trying to avoid any leakage of the series episodes by not releasing copies to the members of the press. It seems, however, that their efforts are not enough. It can be noted that the debut episode of this season also appeared online a few hours before the actual broadcast, based on a report of Torrent Freak. Soon after, high quality video also appeared on Torrent websites.

HBO has been sending these online pirates warnings about illegal downloads. The links of leaked episodes, meanwhile, have been taken down minutes after they were made available to the public.

The popular American series finished its previous season in June 2015. It is considered the most pirated show of year 2014, according to IB Times. The finale of the previous season was downloaded 14.4 million times, all of which were done illegally. Most of the recorded downloads took place during the first week of the episode scheduled to be aired.

Meanwhile, the British Office of Intellectual Property expressed its commitment to go after those who are guilty of online piracy. Because of this, the government plans to increase the sentence for those who will be found guilty. From the initial two years, the British government wishes to increase it to 10 years to discourage cases of online piracy.
