After years of rumors of whether or not there will be a sequel to Michael Jordan's famous Space Jam movie, it finally looks like the movie is in the works with NBA superstar Lebron James leading the cast. Hollywood director Justin Lin, best known for his work on the Fast & Furious franchise, has reportedly begun writing the script with the intention of directing and producing the film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Justin Lin, Andrew Dodge, and Alfredo Botello are ready to shoot hoops with Lebron James. The Fast & Furious 6 and Star Trek Beyond helmer is co-writing with Dodge and Botello. Lin is looking to direct and produce the film via his Perfect Storm Entertainment and said he will be thoroughly involved in the creative development of the project.

There are still no details beyond what was mentioned. Although a screenwriter is already attached, there is no word on when Lin hopes to start filming or have the picture in theaters. And just as Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing and other NBA players appeared in MJ's film, talks about present superstars starring with James in the picture have also surfaced.

Forbes Magazine has made their prediction on which player may have the potential to join Lebron to sequel the highest basketball movie of all time. Stephen Curry, Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant were just a few of the names that were mentioned. However, as much as basketball fans would want to start counting the days before seeing this amazing line-up, ESPN's Brian Windhorst, who has covered Lebron James' career says that "no deal is in place" for Lebron to star in the sequel.

The Verge also reported that most details of the film will have to be worked out, and fans will just have to sit and wait for a while.
