Bitcoin’s Creator Not A Japanese, The True Identity of Satoshi Nakamoto Revealed

The world momentarily held its silence as Craig Wright, Australian entrepreneur, publicly identified himself as the Bitcoin creator: Satoshi Nakamoto. Wright's admission follows years of speculation concerning the real man who was responsible with the original ideas of the digital cash system.

According to a report on BBC, Craig Wright showed evidence to corroborate his claim. He provided coins which are known to be owned by Bitcoin's creator. Wright's claim has been verified by important members of the Bitcoin community and its core development team. Nevertheless, there are still others in the Bitcoin world who have been asking for more technical proof.

Craig Wright revealed his identity as the real Bitcoin creator to 3 big media institutions: GQ, Economist and BBC. Moreover, Craig Wright, during the meeting with the BBC, digitally signed messages with the use of cryptographic keys that were created in the early days of Bitcoin's development. Inextricably linked to blocks of bitcoins, these keys were known to have been designed by Satoshi Nakamoto.

"These are the blocks used to send 10 bitcoins to Hal Finney in January [2009] as the first bitcoin transaction," said Mr Wright during his demonstration as cited on The Washington Post. "I was the main part of it, but other people helped me," he further said.

The chief scientist at the Bitcoin Foundation, Gavin Andresen, soon after published a blog backing Mr Wright's claim. "I believe Craig Steven Wright is the person who invented Bitcoin," Andresen wrote.

Bitcoin Foundation's economist and one of its founding directors, Jon Matonis, said that he was strongly convinced that Craig Wright is who he claims to be. "During the London proof sessions, I had the opportunity to review the relevant data along three distinct lines: cryptographic, social, and technical," Matonis said. "It is my firm belief that Craig Wright satisfies all three categories," he added.

Even though, Wright had already expressed his plan of releasing information that would allow others to cryptographically verify his claim, still a lot of people remain doubtful and have even called on Wright to go further in proving that he really is Satoshi Nakamoto.
