Woman Gives Birth To Baby Girl One Hour After Realizing She Was Pregnant

Forty-seven-year-old Judy Brown didn't know she was pregnant until one hour before she gave birth at Beverly Hospital in Beverly, Massachusetts on Wednesday.

She had been complaining of abdominal pain but thought she probably had a gallstone, according to ABC News. Brown also thought it was possible that she even might be getting ready for menopause. However, this was definitely not the case.

"(The doctors said,) ‘It's good news there's no blockage, you are pregnant and you are going to have her now!'" she said via WCVB5.

She gave birth to a an 8-pound baby girl that the couple of 22 years named Carolyn Rose.

Surprise pregnancies are more common than you'd think. For instance, in May 2015, California mom Lindsey Robinson had her second surprise pregnancy--delivering her fourth child on Mother's Day, according to the Sun Times.

She believed her weight gain and bad cramps were due to a cyst when she later called the ER and gave birth to a baby girl, Presely Faith, at Mercy San Juan hospital. In 2012, she had her first surprise pregnancy--giving birth to her first son, according to The Daily Mail.

For these mothers, by the time they find out they're pregnant, it's just about time to give birth. But for many others with surprise or unexpected pregnancies, they're typically less far along. If you think you may be pregnant, the first thing to do is get a urine or blood test to find out for sure. Then speak with your doctor about how far along your pregnancy may be, according to Family Doctor. Typically, there are signs.
