Birth Increase: Soaring Pregnancy Rates For the First Time In 7 Years

More babies are being born in the United States in the last year, according to statistics from the National Center for Health. This number rose by 1 percent and its the first fertility rate increase in just about 7 years.

While women in the U.S. were having more babies at eaxactly 3,983, 934 according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) last year, preliminary data shows that the birth rates in the United States were up by 1 percent last year.  However, this is also the first increase in 7 years.

As teenagers aren't having as many children, that rate in the group dropped by 9 percent in 2014 when compared tin 2013, with teen birth rates declining since 19991. 

The center notes a 1 percent risk from 2013 to 2014, with birth rates increasing especially among women in their 40s.

The number of pre-term births, c-sections and babies born to women in their 20s and unmarried couples was also down, as was more teenage pregenancies and teenage couples.
