‘Halo 6’ Release Date Update, Rumors: Wait For ‘Halo 6’ Gets Longer? Developers Still Working On ‘Halo 5: Guardians’ Update?

While Halo game series developer 343 Industries hasn't officially confirmed the existence of the sixth "Halo" franchise installment, rumors about "Halo 6" release date, gameplay and story are floating ablaze.

Halo fans were expecting 343 Industries to announce "Halo 6" at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016 event, but, unfortunately, the same did not happen. In fact, there was no words from the makers about the alleged gaming title. However, it was confirmed during the event that "Halo 5: Guardians" would not get a PC version.

New reports suggest the developers are not yet finished updating the current Halo franchise title, "Halo 5: Guardians". The gaming studio has revealed that they will be rolling out more updates for the first-person shooter in future. This means that wait for Halo 6 might even get longer as it was expected that work on "Halo 6" and "Halo Wars 2" would begin only after "Halo 5: Guardians" would stop getting more updates.

As far as gameplay is concerned, the highly anticipated "Halo 6" is expected to follow the current "Halo 5" story featuring background stories of the characters. Spoilers suggest that the upcoming Halo installment will see heroes fight against Cortana. There are also reports which claim that unlike the previous Halo titles, "Halo 6" will be released for both PC and Xbox One.

Microsoft's Phil Spencer had earlier revealed in an interview with PC Gamer that the software giant is planning to make the upcoming first party games compatible with Windows 10. When someone asked Spencer if the next Halo games would not support PC same like "Halo 5," he replied saying "Not at all."

Talking about Halo 6 release date, developer 343 Industries has always maintained a gap of three years in between releases. "Halo 4" was released in 2012 and "Halo 5" in 2015, so, it is expected that "Halo 6" will get a 2018 release.
