Trainers will also have a chance to earn more candies for their Pokémon buddy by walking a certain distance. For those players who chose Pikachu to be their buddy, they will have a chance to find a new Pokémon GO Easter egg.

Pikachu initially appears on the ground next to the player that chose it, but after walking 10km, the little pocket monster will be able to hop on the player's avatar's shoulder in the trainer details screen. Also, note that players are advised to not pick their Pokémon Buddy based on their favorite Pokémon. A Pokémon Buddy should also be based at least on its use in the game.

Game developer also explained that they are continuously working on eliminating "bots and scrapers" from the game, emphasizing that users with rooted or jailbroken devices are not supported by the app.
