While, Rockstar Games has not yet confirmed the next installment of the popular video game "Grand Theft Auto", tentatively titled "Grand Theft Auto 6," rumors related to the game's release date, gameplay and location have already flooded the web.

"Grand Theft Auto" fans were quite disappointed after GTA 6 remained unannounced at the at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 event. But, now, new rumors suggest the highly anticipated "Grand Theft Auto 6" will get a 2018 release date and feature a female protagonist.

According to Neurogadget, the gaming studio has maintained a five-year-gap trend between its GTA releases. While "GTA 4" was released in 2008, the "GTA 5" game was launched in 2013. If the same trend is followed, fans can expect the highly anticipated "GTA 6" to get released in 2018, which is five years after 2013. Furthermore, there are rumors which suggest Rockstar games will release GTA 6 alongside new consoles- Sony's PlayStation 5 and Microsoft's Xbox Two.

It is also rumored that the "GTA 5" follow up will feature a female protagonist, which will be voiced by Hollywood star Eva Mendes. In fact, Mendes's real-life partner Ryan Gosling is also rumored to voice one of the game's male characters.

As far as "Grand Theft Auto 6" location and gameplay is concerned, it is rumored that the game will feature a London based map.

Dan Houser, the co-founder of Rockstar, has hinted that the developers are keen in taking "Grand Theft Auto 6" outside the U.S.

"At the moment, it feels like GTA's DNA is contemporary-ish, American-ish, English-speaking-ish, because that's what it has been," said House, reported HNGN.  "But that doesn't necessarily limit it to those, that's just what we've done so far."

In the past, the gaming studio had also revealed that they would like to create a GTA game with all previous cities from the series.

"Of course, at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas," said Leslie Benzies, former Rockstar president.

We advise our readers to take the information with a big grain of salt as nothing yet has been officially confirmed by the developers.
