Most of us like to treat our pets just like, well, ourselves. Ok, we've been known to feed Fido a scrap or two from the table--especially during holidays. But Japan? They took it a step further. Now we can get drunk with one of our favorite fuzzy friends, too. Cats. Well, not really, but at least it might make celebrations more festive.

According to Kotaku", the pet supplement company B&H Lifes is rolling out a new bubbling drink that they call "wine exclusively for cats." It's called "Nyan Nyan Nouveau," and in Japanese "nyan nyan" refers to a cat's meow as well as do individuals being intimate.

However, various organizations note that the product doesn't contain any actual alcohol. As the country also carries "kid's beer," a product that doesn't carry any actual booze, the drinks are primarily composed of Cabernet grapes and Vitamin C. For our feline friends, they throw in a little catnip, too.

Why did the company want to create "wine" for cats? Because they wanted to be able to celebrate with their pets during birthdays and Christmas, according to the news organization.

A 180 ml bottle of the wine costs 399 yen (US $4).

Some of you might be thinking 'why is there no drink for man's best friend?' Well, it just so turns out that there's already a beer by the same company for dogs. At least now we won't feel so bad at celebrations. (Wink.)

The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism notes that the effects of alcohol can cause serious health complications-for some, even fatal. As alcohol continues to enter the bloodstream every 10 minutes starting with the first sip, its effects can be immediate depending on various factors that may result in confusion, motor impairment, breathing problems and even death. When drinking make sure to proceed with caution. Moderation is always the best bet.
