It's common knowledge that the technical advances happening all around us are having a profound impact on our children. We joke that they always have their head in their phones or spend hours playing video games.

Technology has changed the next generation, and this is, more often than not, frowned upon. Instead, we should celebrate it and mold their technical minds for the better because it's something that we can no longer avoid.

Schools across the globe are recognizing the importance of teaching children the fundamentals of how technology works and encouraging them to get involved. Some of the highest standard educational authorities, such as the UK, have changed their syllabus to incorporate coding. They are taking computer science one step further than learning to write and send emails. But why?

Bringing Education Into the 21st-Century

Pioneers in incorporating programming into education for young students understand the need for change. In the past, we have included life skills such as cookery, home economics, woodwork, and textile design into our children's education. Now it's time to move into the modern way of thinking.

Teaching children how the technology works and allowing them to use it to facilitate their studies and to be involved in its basic creation helps to keep them engaged because it fits their current interests. Only 20 years ago, getting help with one's assignments online from services like essayservice.com was unthought of. And now, it is merely a necessity. Because students finally get to choose what and how to study rather than following the rules dictated by conventional methods. Not only using and studying technology fits students' interests, but it also gives them the stepping stones to be able to function in a technologically advanced world in their daily life and the work environment.

Coding, programming, and general knowledge about technology are crucial for a cross-curricular education. Math, Science, critical thinking, design, and technology are all rolled into one when studying programming.

An Online Generation

Many schools are opting to use software that enables children to code and program at a basic level. These include game making software to construct (game engine), plus, website and app development programs.

Game making software sites recognize that using game creation as a tool for education is an engaging and exciting way for students to learn a wide range of skills and abilities. This is why they're providing a service to educational institutes by including tutorials and lesson plans on their sites.

Furthermore, the ability to understand and involve themselves in website development and coding gives them a greater understanding of the technology they are using. Which in turn, brings them safety and security in the online world.

Employment Prospects

The next generation is a generation of technical minds and entrepreneurs. Hard labor jobs are becoming scarce in a world focused on the future of robotics, and public service jobs are no longer an option for straight out of school applicants.

Therefore, it's crucial that our youth stay in tune with the advances in technology in order for them to compete in the job market or be successfully self-employed. Learning this subject in school gives them the skill set to work as a team, prototype ideas, and market, using the tools and resources that are now available to them. If they learn to design, develop, and present ideas in the digital world, they won't be left behind in their future employment.

It also has to be recognized that for the next generation, the need for skilled workers in the IT field will be booming. The future of technology is only getting more widespread and advanced across all avenues of life. Therefore, we'll need those who can develop and maintain it, plus those who know how to work it in their daily jobs.

Preparing for the Future

To conclude, there are several reasons why coding is being incorporated into the school curriculum across the world.

Firstly, to ensure the youth are up to date with 21st-century technology. This is so they have an understanding of how it works, how to stay safe using it, and foster an interest in its creation. While also giving them a current cross-curricular education that builds foundations for successful careers in the future.

The future is prosperous for the next generation working alongside technology. For those young minds who want to start their own online business or those who want to work in the public sector using the latest advances to help people.
