One couple, Trina and Mike, living in Florida are addicted to coffee enemas and spends 5 hours a day in bathroom preparing and administering coffee enemas.

Trina and Mike are featured on on the new season of TLC's My Strange Addiction.

Trina said she had been suffering from a variety of illnesses when she came across coffee enemas.

"I had a lot of stomach problems, digestive problems with my kidney and my liver," she said. "I started research and it led into coffee enemas and I really started to feel the benefit. I felt like I was living for the first time in years."

The couple fill a 32-ounce bucket with coffee and deliver it to their lower intestine via a Vaseline-coated hose. "That's the freaky part," Trina said. "So I try to relax."

Couple each have around 100 coffee enemas every month, and 6,000 in total since their addiction started two years ago, they both doesn't want to drink the caffeinated beverage, saying that it is bad for their health.

Mike prefers the fine espresso grind, while Trina likes a warm and thick coffee since it is less “messy and drippy.”

"I started the whole debacle," Trina told ABCNews.com . "Then it took on a life of its own. I twice tried to stop and felt worse, so I do this every day and as much as I can. But it's very time-consuming."

"I love the way it makes me feel," said Trina, who did not want to reveal her last name. "It gives me a sense of euphoria."

Doctors and relatives have warned the couple against enemas, which can trigger dehydration, internal burns and heart failure. According to Dr. Roshini Rajapaksa, assistant professor of medicine and a gastroenterologist at NYU Medical Center. Dr. Rajapaksa told ABCNews.com that she would never recommend coffee enemas to her patients.
