A research shows that dogs behave differently while watching TV. They tend to be interactive and restless as well. Often times they approach the screen to take a closer look.

Meanwhile, experts tracked the dog's vision same as what they use with humans and discovered that they only have two types of color receptor cells and see colors within two spectrums of light which is blue and yellow. They also found that dog's eyes are more sensitive to movements, according to Yahoo News.

Thus, the media uses colors that are comfortable to the dog's eyes in their canine channels. Hence DogTV prefers to use these colors in their programs. Also, vets say that the improvement of televisions, from standard to HD allows the dog to have a better recognition on TV.

In line with this, an early research was conducted, according to Science Direct, experts used multiple screens and tested the dog's reaction. Instead of focusing on one screen, they were unable to decide on which screen should they watch no matter what was shown. It also shows that dogs have less than 3 seconds of attention span, and not only dogs are attracted to the colors but also the sound has a big part in catching their attention, according to IFL Science.com.

Though science leads us that dogs can give into television, they are still uncertain if dogs really enjoy watching TV. Like us, we often watch television or video that gives us a feel a different field of emotion from distress to horror and anger. Experts are not yet sure if dogs have a similar motivation in watching television.
