Bill Gates wants you. And he's not asking you to install new software on your computer. He's asking the combination of genius Rico Suave's out there to create the unthinkable-a condom, for either males or females-that actually feels good to use during sex. And the prize for this effort? One hundred grand in funds to harness the new safest, sexiest sex this world has ever seen.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is offering the funds for the (hopefully) new and improved condom, and the contest is part of Round 11 for the Grand Challenges Exploration initiative, a five-year-old program run by the Gates Foundation that encourages innovation in global health research.

The male beef with the condom is quite frankly that they don't like the way it feels. As such, the official call for entries states, "The primary drawback from the male perspective is that condoms decrease pleasure as compared to no condom, creating a trade-off that many men find unacceptable, particularly given that the decisions about use must be made just prior to intercourse."

Gawker reports that while condoms have been used for about 400 years, little advancements have been made regarding the materials used. The Gate's Foundation suggests that new condom provide enhanced pleasure, ease of use and a more appealing packaging.

Proposals should also be thought out with "a testable hypothesis, (ii) include an associated plan for how the idea would be tested or validated, and (iii) yield interpretable and unambiguous data in Phase I, in order to be considered for Phase II funding." Applications are due May 7.
