A new app lets people visit the historical place of the origin of Christmas -- where Jesus Christ was born.

The Sun reported that a 360 video featured in the new Bible VR app takes viewers on a tour inside the Church of Nativity -- where people believe was the site of Christ's birth.

The Bible talks about the nativity in Gospel books Matthew and Luke, where Jesus -- the Son of God -- was conceived by his virgin mother Mary through the power of the Holy Spirit and was born in a humble manger in Bethlehem.

Now, people go to the holy site as the Church of Nativity and it is opening its virtual doors to many. Complete with historical information, the virtual tour features local guide Danny Herman, also known as "Danny the Digger" to tell viewers more about the place that has been visited by millions of tourists around the world.

The raw footage used for the app was captured with the use of Nokia OZO VR camera for a more realistic experience.

"Traditional filming allows you to see what the documentarian or filmmaker chooses you should see," explained director and producer of the Bethlehem clip, Pearry Teo. "360 lets the viewer explore at their own pace, take the time to really absorb what it would really be like being there."

What is a better way to celebrate Christmas than going back to the original Christmas scene itself?

Aside from the Church of Nativity, the Bible VR app also gives people biblical tours of the life-size replica of Noah's Ark, The Holy Land and the site where Jesus Christ was crucified.

"It is the closest thing to experiencing The Holy Land, short of being there yourself," Teo added. "This makes the experience very personal, because how a person explores these locations is really up to them."
