Why do people walk when they can bike? Why just bike when they can walk to bike? That is the idea behind the electric walking bike that is selling like hotcakes online! People think this innovation is either ridiculous or cool. But either way, it is a piece that people will be talking about if they can shell out around three grand for a bike!

"How can I use a treadmill outdoor?" asks Dutchman Bruin Bergmeester. That is the question that inspired him to make an electric walking bike known as Lopifit. The name Lopifit is a combination of three words, "Lopan" is Dutch for walk, "pi" to represent its technical aspects (the circumference of a circle) and "fit" for healthy living. And that is how the Frankenstein baby of a treadmill and a bike came to be.

The Lopifit is like an ordinary bike. But instead of pedals and a bike seat, one gets a treadmill to stand on. A motor, powered by a 350W Samsung lithium ion battery, turns on the treadmill. The motor combined with adjustable multi-speed gears can boost the user to speeds of 4 to 17 miles per hour depending on how fast the user walks. There is also a coasting mode where the users can just stand on the treadmill and let the motor do all the work just like an electric scooter.

The Lopifit boasts that it provides "low physical impact high cardio high calorie burn exercise" while one enjoys the great outdoors. So, people can go to places and get fit at the same time. According to OddityCentral, Lopifitters, the loyal fans of Lopifit, have said that using the electric walking bike is easy but needs some getting used to.

Of course, some people are saying the Lopifit is a stupid idea. Tell that to the hundreds of people who are ordering the Lopifit that the company has become overwhelmed with the demand for its electric walking bike. Lopifit is quite expensive with a bike costing a person $2,495 dollars but he can get it in any color he wants.

If people can shell out that much money, they will be happy to hear that the Lopifit company is developing an improved version of its electric walking bike and is currently in talks with universities and Tesla Motors, as reported in Lost In E Minor. Lopifit is here to stay whether some think it is ridiculously stupid or not!
