Following Apple's lead with Siri, Google has brought its AI Assistant Google Now in its latest Pixel smartphones as well as in its Allo Messenger app. Now, if recent reports are to be believed, Samsung might introduce its AI Assistant "Bixby" in the upcoming Galaxy S8 models.

There have been rumors that the Samsung's AI assistant would be featured in the next-gen flagship Galaxy S8 after the tech giant announced the acquisition of Viv Labs. Lee Kyeong tae, Samsung's VP also recently told that the Galaxy S8 smartphone would have an artificial intelligence service along with a slim design and an enhanced camera. Samsung Galaxy S8: New AI assistant 'Bixby'

Samsung filed a new trademark recently in South Korea, revealing some information about the possible Samsung's AI Assistant "Bixby" that the smartphone manufacturer plans to launch in its upcoming Galaxy S8 next year. The name of the AI assistant,"Bixby" was mentioned in the trademark itself.

According to several reports, Samsung plans to use Bixby as computer software to enable hands-free use of the smartphones using the voice recognition feature. This clearly means that "Bixby" could be Samsung's intelligent assistant, fans had been waiting for.

Samsung Galaxy S8: Latest Rumors, Updates

The trademark filing for Samsung's AI Assistant "Bixby" follows the announcement of Samsung's acquisition of California-based AI Start-up Viv Labs in October. It's worth noticeable that Viv Labs is also the brainchild of the people responsible for Apple's popular assistant, Siri.

Galaxy S8's AI Assistant will be different than those featured in Pixel and iPhones. Samsung's AI Assistant "Bixby" will have the ability to evolve with the user needs unlike the Google Now, Alexa and even Siri.

Experts believe that with Viv, the tech giant will offer new services to its customers, including a simpler user interface that would understand the user's needs and offer the most appropriate suggestions. While, patent applications sometimes do offer a glance into the possible future technologies, not all of these come out to be true.

However, now that that the tech giant has signed a patent for the Samsung's AI Assistant "Bixby", chances are the rumors will turn into reality with the reveal of the Galaxy S8. Stay Tuned To SWR For more recent updates and latest news on Galaxy S8 and its AI Assistant "Bixby".
