A lot of people cried over the events of John Green's "The Fault In Our Stars," but what is fiction compared to reality? Katie Prager, who has cystic fibrosis, died on Thursday, at the age of 26, due to complications from her disease and a lung transplant.

Prager's mother, Debra Donovan, posted on Facebook in the wake of her death, saying that she got her wish of "being at home, in her bed, surrounded by her mom, dad, brother, and her dogs," adding that she died peacefully, away from the hospital and all the machines that surrounded her. Katie had been in hospice care since September, and her husband, Dalton Prager died just days earlier after suffering from the same disease himself. He was 25. In his death, Katie herself posted on the social media site, "Dalton fought a long hard battle with cystic fibrosis. He was a courageous fighter and 'give up' wasn't in his vocabulary."

The young couple garnered attention last year when Katie's fight to get a lung transplant made waves. She and Dalton were known as the real "The Fault In Our Stars" couple, as they too are teenage cancer patients who fell in love. According to CNN, they met on Facebook in 2009, when they were both 18, and Katie reached out to him when she noticed that his mother posted a photo of Dalton in the Hospital.

They started to message each other, and soon, they realized that they were falling in love. Despite doctor's warnings not to meet in person, Dalton and his mother drove more than six hours from Missouri to Katie in Flemingsburg, where they arranged to meet. They married less than two years later. The years that they were married were "great," said Katie. "We did stuff; we had fun. It was like something out of a fairytale."
