Samsung flagship smartphones Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have been quite successful in getting tech enthusiasts' attention, now, new reposts suggest the tech giant's next gen smartphone, possibly dubbed Samsung Galaxy S8, could come loaded with a host of new and interesting specs and features.

According to Trusted Reviews, a recent patent filing from Samsung submitted with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office reveals a possible future smartphone with two screens on either side of a 'built-in cover'.

The latest dual display smartphone design shows a cover which folds open to reveal two screens. One of the displays will be a 'functional unit' and contain input devices, sound devices, wireless charging pads, power devices, sensor devices, and antenna devices. The patent filing also mentions the presence of pen and ultrasonic input, a projector and biometric, grip, gesture, and UV sensors, reported Patently Mobile.

Samsung filed the patent application in November 2015 in the US. However, it remains to be seen whether or not the design will see the light of the day.

There are also reports which claim that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will come with improved iris scanning technology with a new kind of triple-camera system.

As per the patent filed by Samsung with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, "the first lens may include two narrow-angle lenses having narrow angles of view to expand and capture images of regions of the eyes of the user. The second lens may include a wide-angle lens having a wide angle of view to capture an image of the face of the user. The first lens may be a zoom lens, and the second lens may be a short focal length lens. That is, in some embodiments, the iris recognition device may obtain images for recognizing the iris of the user using three lenses."

The new triple-camera system will scan and check the user's iris, eye structure as well as face to get an accurate read. If in case the iris recognition system does not recognize the person trying to access the system, it will issue a voice message with guidance on the display to retry the scanner.

In addition, the reports claims that the fingerprint sensor in the Samsung Galaxy S8 might get placed to the back of the phone. Rumors are that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will get a release date in April next year.

We advise our readers to take the rumors about Samsung Galaxy S8 release date and specs with a big grain of salt as nothing yet has been announced by the smartphone giant.
