While, Apple is keeping mum on the release date of its highly anticipated smartwatch, tentatively titled "Apple Watch 2," a new round of rumors suggest the tech giant has already begun groundwork for the launch.

According to reports, the original Apple Watch iteration is being offered to customers at a discounted rate. Electronics retailer Best Buy is selling the Apple Watch at a massive discount of up to $200. The 38mm variety starts from $349 while the 42mm option starts at $399.

However, it is to be noted that this is not the first time that the smartwatch is being offered at a lower price tag. The wearable gadget was also offered at a $50 discount in March, wherein the original price of $349 of its Apple Watch Sports variant was reduced to $299.

There are reports which claim that the shipment of the chips and components for the second-generation Apple Watch will begin in next quarter, and based on the order, the iPhone maker is planning to ship about two million units of the next gen smartwatch every month.

Talking about "Apple Watch 2" specs, it is rumored that the next gen Apple smartwatch might come with a built-in camera. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office had recently published Apple Watch specific patent applications which teases that the Cupertino may introduce one or two cameras in a future version of the watch.

One of the patent pictures clearly shows the user interface section including the word 'camera' alongside touch sensor, audio jack, microphone, display and speakers.

Among other specs, the "Apple Watch 2" is expected to get the same design as the original iteration, but with impressive internal specifications. The upcoming smartwatch is expected to be 20 percent to 40 percent slimmer than its predecessor.

It is rumored that "Apple Watch 2" will feature true cellular connectivity which will make the device entirely independent from the iPhone. Furthermore, the smartwatch is expected to pack an ARM Cortex A32 processor, which is almost 25 percent faster than the current ARM-based processor and offers improved battery life.

Coming to the release date, the "Apple Watch 2" is expected to get released alongside iPhone 7 in September.

We advise our readers to take the information with a grain of salt as Apple has not yet announced what it has in store.
