Lost Your iPhone? Google’s Feature Is Here To Help

Here is a good news for iPhone or Android users! Google introduces a new feature that lets you search misplaced or lost phones. Simply go to Google search engine and type 'I lost my phone' and you will be given a list of option on how to locate your misplaced device. In the search results, you will be given a list of options on how to locate your device on a map, or make it ring.
The process is pretty simple. Just go to Google's 'My Account', scroll down, and click 'Find Your Phone'. Select the device that you are trying to locate, sign in to your Google account, and you will be given a list of options like the following:
- Find and lock your iPhone
- Try calling your phone
- Sign out on your phone
- Reach out to your carrier
- Reach out for local help
However, Google's phone location feature is not yet capable of locking an iPhone or remotely erasing it. But there are other cool options to help you locate misplaced devices, or if you just want to figure out where the phone is.
The feature will also prevent other people from accessing your Google account since you can remotely sign out on your phone, thus making it impossible for thieves to access your confidential information.
Interestingly, Google is providing this feature or function to users of other mobile platforms like iPhone. But looking at it in a different angle, it is a positioning that will benefit Google by way of an increased search engine inquiry.
The service can also be considered as a public service on Google's part since it enables you to look for your missing or lost device without much hassle, or it can also be a strategy to entice iPhone users to use Google's service and features and eventually switch to Android in the near future.
