Americans can't go a second without their caffeine. Just look around right now, wherever you are and chances are you'll spot a Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts right around the corner. Soda, coffee, tea, whatever, we need, need, NEED our caffeine to keep us awake, give us that extra kick and help us function.

Yet just when you thought you'd seen everything, a new product hit the market that gives you that same buzz through a simple spray. Thanks to the team indieGogo, this sprayable energy is available via a modified caffeine that's absorbed through the skin and gradually distributed through the body's system.

You can thank Ben Yu, a 21-year-old tech guru, and 33-year-old Deven Soni for coming up with the wonky device.

"Coffee didn't work for me," Yu said, according to Inc. Magazine. "When I ingest it, it's like roller coaster ride of energy."

According to Yu, after the team conducted some background information on nicotine patches and consulted Yu's father, they came up with the novel spray in which each dose contains a cup of coffee but delivers the same amount of caffeine stimulation.

Here's how it works, according to the Sprayable Energy website, as the caffeine is not ingested: "it isn't almost entirely metabolized by the liver before entering your system and becoming available to your body. Thus, a smaller amount of caffeine can have just the same effect as a very large amount of caffeine ingested through an energy drink or cup of coffee."

The price of the product is expected to be $15 with up to 40 doses in each bottle. According to the website, users can have a maximum number of five sprays in a five hour period with up to 20 sprays per day.

Are you going to trade your 'cup of Joe' in for this stuff?
