Doctors in Canberra studied a rather peculiar site when they came upon a 70-year-old man who had allegedly inserted a 4-inch fork into his urethra in the attempts of having a more gratifying orgasm.

The man reportedly came in with a bleeding pecker, upon which doctors promptly removed a piece of cutlery into his urethra nearly 12 hours after he had placed the fork inside his body.

Fortunately they were able to catch the item on camera via x-ray images and slide it out using "copious lubrication" while he was under general anaesthetic.

Doctors were able to feel the fork from outside and remarkable x-ray images showed the utensil wedged into the man's penis.

According to a document written by the medics, they report that it is rare to find objects lodged in the lower urinary tract, noting that "given the great management challenge faced by the oddity and infrequency with which a fork is encountered in the penile urethra".

"It is apparent that the human mind is uninhibited let alone creative," they added, via the Independent. "Autoerotic stimulation with the aid of self-inserted urethral foreign bodies has been existent since time immemorial and have presented an unusual but known presentation to urologists."

However, when it comes to foreign objects that have been inserted and then are stuck in the rectum involving sexual activity, this is a different matter entirely. The emergency room has reportedly seen everything and anything from vibrators to flash flights venture up the anus and need medical assistance to come back out.

Everybody needs a little something new and exciting when it comes to play in the bedroom. Just might be best in the end though to keep it a bit more old school, right?
