Apple iPhone 6S Battery Issue: Tech Giant Accepts Manufacturing Defect, The Effect Could Be More Widespread Than Anticipated!

The Apple iPhone 6S shipment manufactured in the month of September and October 2015 was recalled by the company as a number of handsets were reported to have been shutting down unexpectedly. The company came out with a recent press release with the underlying cause of the suddenly dying batteries. The press release sad hat the iPhone 6S devices were falling out of power suddenly because the batteries were exposed to "controlled ambient air" more than necessary during its assembly.

The Cupertino revealed that the issue of iPhone 6S going out of power unexpectedly was because of the fault in one of its battery components. Apple in its press release explains that the component was exposed to what is referred to as "controlled ambient air" much longer than the adequate period.

As the exposure has happened before the assembling of the battery packs it has affected the iPhone 6S battery in the long run.This manufacturing defect has led to the serious degradation of the batteries faster than usual which in turn has led to sudden unexpected power-offs, as reported by Macrumors.

Quoting from the press release, Apple expressed "It's important to note, this is not a safety issue." Looks like Apple is very cautious in wording the explanation by stressing on 'not a safety issue' to clarify users that iPhone 6S will not be the next Galaxy Note 7.

Apple Cautiously Accepts The iPhone 6S Manufacturing Problem

Nonetheless, it is obvious that the issue is a straightforward manufacturing problem. Apple has not revealed the exact number of the affected devices. Reports also suggest that the Cupertino tech giant first said that only a very lesser number of devices had been reported of facing the issue of discussion. However, the recent press release from Apple has removed the word "very" in the phrase. The company has said that just a "small number" of iPhone 6S handsets have been affected. It is yet to be unveiled if the "very" has much of a significance. Apple has also mentioned that there had been reportedly a few cases of devices experiencing unexpected Apple iPhone 6S battery shutdowns "outside the affected range," as reported by The Verge.

However, the company has not offered an explanation for the issue. It has although mentioned in its press release that the company will be offering added and improved diagnostic capabilities in the next week's upcoming iOS software update that will investigate the problem.

Anyways, it is advisable that users can check the Apple iPhone 6S battery issues using the Apple tool. If a user is eligible, that is if their device is affected, the company will send a replacement device to their local Apple Store. Also, users have to wait for a week or so for the replacement to reach them.
