Donald Trump's Twitter Activity: Twitter CEO Says It’s Fascinating And Complicated

Trump and Twitter have almost become a tautology. Donald Trump the president-elect of the United States is well-known for his incessant tweeting. He tweets on anything that he comes across during the day, be it the nation's foreign policy or pop culture.

On account of his new found adoration to tweeting, CEO Jack Dorsey of Twitter has some comments to share. The press asked if the twitter chief was a fan of Donald Trump's tweets, at a Code Commerce event organized by Recode on Tuesday. Dorsey gave a significantly diplomatic yet an open-hearted reply.

Trump's Twitter Updates Become News All the Time

He said that his feelings about Trump's incessant tweeting are "complicated". He also agreed to the fact that the President-elect certainly has grown adored interest on the platform. He uses Twitter at all times of the day as his primary mode of communication on anything and everything to the public. Dorsey is not hidden from the fact that Trump's tweets have been generating a great deal of positive publicity to Twitter. It is obvious that a President-elect's tweet goes viral very often on the news.

The present head and the co-founder of the platform Mr. Honcho said that he feels very proud of the role Twitter has become to play in the lives of people. He said that the platform has come to play the role for which it was developed and it is increasingly becoming active every other day. He also expresses his views on the accelerated growth of Twitter especially at the time of election where the platform shot up the pedestal due to Trump's continuous usage, as reported by Digital Trends.

Twitter Chief's Complicated Feelings on Trump Tweeting

Dorsey elaborated on his "complicated," feelings for Trump's tweeting. He said that people can directly connect to the President-elect through the platform and get to know his thoughts in real time. The platform serves as a direct line of communication between the people and the President-elect. He says that the very idea that everyone will be able to see what is on Trump's mind at the moment is 'fascinating'. He said that he has not witnessed such direct connection with the first person of the state earlier. Hence, it is new and certainly a revolutionary approach wherein everything is out there, so obvious to see, comment and discuss it.

Trump's reason behind tweeting

Earlier this week, Trump said that he started using Twitter continuously as a strategic approach to handling the inaccurate depiction of mainstream media during his electoral campaigns. He also wrote that if the media would portray him accurately with the due honors, he wouldn't have had much of a reason to 'tweet' all the time. However, he said that he is sad that such things never happen, as reported by Business Insider.

Twitter's Hate-Speech Policy

On the other hand, Twitter has also recently fine-tuned its policy against hate speech. It took up a bold stance of banning a number of accounts that do not or bypass the policies of hate speech. The platform has also clearly explained that the policy is common for all and anyone including key government officials and even the President would not be considered at times of the hate-speech policy violation and that their account will be banned for good.
