"Clash of Clans" fights to regain the top spot snatched by "Pokémon GO" through its much-awaited new content. The December 2016 update is packed with new features including a fresh set of troops, sea-based characters, and a 360-degree virtual reality (VR) perspective.

In the latest trailer posted in Youtube, developers dropped a lot of Easter eggs adding anticipation of its release. Using the 360-degree controls at the top left of the screen, excited clashers can see "Look up, this is grass" engraved at the beginning of the teaser.

At the fourth second of the video, a rabbit riding a hog can be seen when the control is shifted at the back, while at the twelfth second, a barbarian can be seen pushing a piano that is being played by a skeleton. Other easter eggs discovered are a cloud resembling the rider and his hog, and another where one of the characters rides backwards and dies because of hitting a tree.

There are reports that the trailer featuring the archer queen released last December may be a foretelling of new features to come. Some of the scenes that added to the excitement are the ability to repair ships when the players unlock Town Hall 4. Unlocking to this level will include a reward of 50,000 gold. Furthermore, purchasing a barbarian king statue will enable the red barbarian king and red barbarian archer in the playable characters selection.

According to reports, there will be mermaids, pirates and sea monsters in the next update. A new feature that may mean that the war extends to bodies of water, compared to the predecessor where all fights happened on land. Supercell have not confirmed the leaked features yet. It is certain that the mobile game giant is currently testing the VR capability, making sure that the gameplay will not be affected by the update.
