News about Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) upcoming graphics card, dubbed AMD Radeon RX 490, release date have been making rounds for quite some time now. Reports are that the next gen graphics card, which was previously rumored to get a 2016 release, will instead get unveiled sometime next year, most probably by mid-2017.

There are even conflicting reports which claim that AMD Radeon RX 490 will not only get announced in December 2016 but will also be rolled out to market shelves simultaneously. While, there's no official confirmation from AMD about Radeon RX 490 release date, the company's own website accidentally listed the highly anticipated graphics card with a July 2017 launch date.

Although, details about the AMD Radeon RX 490 specs and features are still vague, it is expected that the 4K ready graphics card will come powered by either by the Vega 10 GPU or the dual Polaris 10 GPU. It is to be noted that the current RX 480 is based on the most powerful Polaris 10 GPU configuration. So, it is unlikely that RX 490 will get the same Polaris GPU.

Among other specs, the AMD Radeon RX 490 is expected to get 9,830 GFLOPS of computing power with a base clock of 1200 MHz, as reported by Video Cardz. The report stated that there will a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 interface, a 16384 MB memory size, a memory bandwidth of 716.8 GB/s, a dual-GPU system along with a thermal power of 200 W on board.

Talking about AMD Radeon RX 490 price, the upcoming graphics card is rumored to be priced either less than or equal to the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080. We expect the price tag to remain approximately around $700.  Readers are advised to take the information with a hefty pinch of salt as nothing has been officially confirmed by the makers.
