NES Classic Edition: New Stock Coming Out Soon, Nintendo Promises To Replinish All Retailers

The NES Classic Edition launched recently was sold out within seconds and Gamers are facing an acute shortage. The Nintendo Classic edition was sold out both in stores and online retailers.

Amazon started the sale at 2 pm and recorded a complete sold out in null seconds. In physical stores, long queues were seen and fans were turned away as the stock was limited, as reported by TechCrunch.

With the NES Classic Edition sold out completely, scalpers are making sizeable profits on the device via Ebay. NES Classic Edition was listed at as high as $999, but the average price was about $200.

Nintendo had tweeted that it will try its best to replenish the stocks. The tweet read, "NES Classic Edition system is a hot item, and we are working hard to keep up with consumer demand. There will be a steady flow of additional systems through the holiday shopping season and into the new year."

The Nintendo NES Classic Edition fans are hoping that the company will soon replenish the stocks. But based on the previous experience it doesn't look like that this time around everyone will get their hands on the console, as reported by Forbes.

Nintendo was certainly aware of the high demand for the NES Classic edition. Still why it did not choose to make large quantities available to the fans is a mystery. Either Nintendo messed up the sales forecast or it is just not capable of handling such high demands.

Nintendo could be limiting the supply to create a buzz for their products. This can result in huge sales for the upcoming holiday season. Whatever the reason, this incident raises serious doubts over the upcoming Nintendo Console, the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo has clarified it is planning to make just 2 million units available at its launch. If that number is true then fans will face an even worse shortage for the Nintendo Switch as compared to the NES Classic Edition.
