The Honda CRF250L Rally Preview: Available In The US At $5,899

Honda has finally launched the scale downed version of Africa Twin, the all new Honda CRF250L Rally. The "dual-sports," bikes or adventure bikes are capable of providing a smooth ride in multiple terrains.

A true adventure bike is an amalgamation of a dirt bike and a cruiser bike. Honda with its new CRF250L seems to have got it perfectly right. It is inspired from the CRF450L Rally and has overall great looks.

Lee Edmunds, Manager of Motorcycle Marketing Communications at American Honda, said, "We really wanted to build on the capabilities of the CRF250L and open up new opportunities for riders both young and old, and the CRF250 Rally brings the spirit of rally-raid racing to every ride."

The CRF250L rally is equipped with long-travel suspension, ABS brakes, and a radiator shroud to provide wind protection. The fuel tank has been increased to 2.66 gallons which can go up to 200 miles before requiring a refill, as reported by Rider Magazine. The new Honda CRF250L Rally has also been given a new exhaust which ups the horsepower to 24.4hp from the existing 22.8hp. Rally is powered by a 249.66 cc liquid cooled, fuel injected engine. The rally also gets variable riding modes with a two-channel ABS which will allow turning off ABS at the rear.

There is also a floating screen and asymmetrical LED headlight, and turn signals. There is a digital dash that includes a fuel gauge and a tachometer, both which are needed for long rides, as reported by Cycle Magazine. To offer comfortable longer rides CRF250L Rally has been given a 20mm higher and 50mm longer seat. With a 43 mm Showa fork and new Pro-Link shock that has a 25mm more axle further increasing the comfort of the rides.
